Project Background
This is a research document that is Phase 1, of a three phase project for Metropolitan Fire Brigade.

Phase 1 - Research document.
Consisting of five participatory design workshops with Fireman.
This process was used to get a accurate interpretation of the projected image of the fireman to help influence the character, logo and website design. It was also used to identify the brand values that will be used in marketing, design development and the themes and the characteristics of the characters when implemented in the games. This process also allowed us to identify the themes and tools that can be associated with firemen which can be directly incorporated into the game concepts.

Phase 2 - Concept Design
This phase of the project will consist of concept sketches and refinement of character's, logo's, websites wireframes and games. Once this process is completed and approved by the client the game concepts and final development of the website can begin. The game developments will also incorporate the assistance of kids as part of a 2nd Participatory design workshop, in the development of the game concepts

Phase 3 - Final Product Development
The final phase will take the concept designs and push them to refined solutions.
This part will require a external game development company to produce the games based on the storyboards and timeline developments that where produced in phase 2.

This project has been a research influenced process that has used the research method participatory design workshop to incorporate the end user (the kids) and the MFB's staff (fireman) to help produce a successful well designed solution. The participatory design workshops although are a timely process will help drive a successful solution.
